Nicolas JEAN

Nicolas Jean, a lawyer by training, specializes in providing strategic advice to governments, state-owned companies, African and Pan-African national champions, as well as international investors on the African continent. He guides private sector clients in large-scale operations, particularly in the fields of agriculture, energy, real estate, tourism, infrastructure, natural resources, and the digital economy. Nicolas Jean also assists governments and public authorities in the structuring and implementation of their strategic orientations incorporating a sovereignty dimension.

Nicolas Jean is instrumental in forming numerous partnerships between European and African groups, offering prospects for cross-industrialization and intercontinental collaboration.

Before founding STORK Partners and becoming its President, Nicolas Jean spent most of his career at a leading international law firm from 2008 to 2023. He became a partner in 2019 and was elected a member of the Executive Committee from 2020 to 2023.

In 2020, Nicolas Jean established the think tank A New ROAD (A New Round-Table On African Debts), which is dedicated to addressing financing challenges in African economies. The think tank brings together decision-makers, institutions, commercial banks, private operators, as well as internationally renowned financial and legal experts to propose innovative solutions for the sustainability of African debts and the development of foreign investments on the continent. Nicolas Jean is also a member of the strategic orientation committee of Je M’engage pour l’Afrique (JMA), the first citizens’ public policy incubator operating between Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe.

Nicolas Jean’s contributions to the African continent are widely acknowledged. Since 2020, he has systematically ranked among the top 10 in Jeune Afrique’s list of the 100 most influential business lawyers in French-speaking Africa (securing 1st place in 2021).

Nicolas Jean was also highlighted among the 100 qui transforment l’Afrique (100 who are transforming Africa) by Financial Afrik in 2020.

Nicolas Jean holds a degree from ESSEC and completed the Master’s in Business Law program at the University of Lorraine. He is also a Certified Attorney, having earned the CAPA (Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat).

In September 2022, he was honored with the rank of Officer in the Order of the Ivorian Merit.
